These hanging feeders are hand crafted in Essex from sustainably grown UK willow.
Place large pieces of fresh food inside, for example, cabbage, lettuce, apples, cucumber, corn on the cob and hang inside their run, or from a tree, fence etc. The chickens can peck at the food inside, providing them with a treat and an enrichment activity at the same time.
They measure approximately 60cm in length (including the handle) with an opening of around 8cm at the top.
The feeders are made to order and will take 2-3 weeks to complete and post out.As an item that is hand made from natural material, the feeders will vary slightly I‘m size and appearance.
Care Advice
Please ensure any uneaten food is removed after use, and at least daily. The feeder can rinsed or gently washed in soapy water, using a soft brush. Please ensure it is left to dry thoroughly before being re-used or stored.
As a natural material, the willow will eventually degrade overtime but will last longest when placed in a sheltered spot, protected from the worst of the weather and when old food is cleaned out regularly. Once it has come to the end of its life, the feeder can be broken down and added to the compost bin or garden waste.
To keep environmental impact to a minimum, I reuse packaging and use recyclable packaging where possible.
